We like to think of the Fermentery as our brew hub - a buzzing urban public house and space filled with craft beer, fine food, and connection. We want to create a place for you to gather and simply share in a good time. We love hosting anything from casual get-togethers to large group parties, and are always looking for new event ideas and ways to create shared experiences in Wellington.
Our food philosophy is all about allowing you to invent interesting food-beer matches. We do a mix of meals and tapas-style sharing plates, made for sampling with beer flights.
We call our restaurant the ‘Fermentery’ because we believe in hand-making as many rich, fermented delicacies as possible - from our house pickles, to krauts, and home-cured charcuterie. We bake bread too, and roast our own house coffee blend.
See behind the vats on a guided brewery tour, and wash it all down with a beer tasting and nibbles. Tours run every Saturday at 4pm and take 1 hour from start to finish. $39 per person.
We want to keep groups small and personalised, so we limit tours to a max of 12 people. Email us or call to pre-book!
Our music is pretty special too. For the first time in Wellington we'll bring you a unique reel to reel music system devised by Chicago based audio duo, Uncanned. This gives us a truly distinctive Whistling Sisters sound that makes every night a good time at the Fermentery. Our music, curated in Chicago by Scotty, will bring a beautiful blend of old and new, mellow and upbeat, retro funk combined with the odd bit of yodeling or a local new tune.
